Digital Negatives
You can use any negative or transparent object to create or image or you can scan in a negative. You can also use a digital photo and make it into a digital negative for your work.
- Open up your file in Photoshop and clean the file, crop etc. as needed.
- Adjust the image to the desired dimensions. Make sure it starts with a 360dpi or higher.
- Make the image monochrome:
A. You can convert the image to grayscale.
B. Or you can add a black and white adjustment layer to make more fine tuned adjustments. - You can further adjust the tones as needed with a Levels adjustment layer.
- Apply an Unsharp Mask to the image.
- Invert image so it’s a negative.
- Flip the image horizontally.
- Add an adjustment curve. You can find one you like from online resources or create a new one.
- Load Pictorico Inkjet Media into printer with the printable surface area facing out. (The notch should be located at the upper right.) Handle the material with care. Single sheet feeding is recommended.
- Now you can print. Make sure the paper size matches your paper in the printer.
