After turning off the lights find the film canister and use the bottle opener to pry open one side of the spool. Carefully remove the spool from the outer casing, without touching the emulsion. Cut the leader of the film with the scissors and insert that end into the developing reel. Once the film edge is beyond the ball bearings of the reel, you can twist one side of the reel to “walk” the film till you reach the end. Cut the film again, as close to the spool as possible and finish the “walking”. Reassemble the developing tank with the loaded reel and close firmly. Invert the tank to make sure that the contents don’t fall out.
